Individuals

If you’re struggling, you don’t have to just accept it and stay there.
Maybe you’re sad or stressed because of someone else, someone who’s important to your life. People often come to me wanting, sometimes NEEDING to change someone. Or maybe you’re just sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. I get that.
I work with clients grounded in the science of attachment. Attachment is a science of belonging and arguably the most extensively researched science-based theory of personality, growth, and relationships out there.
Attachment theory tells us who we are and gives us a clear map to our deepest human longings, needs, and fears. This attachment map helps us know where to focus, how to tune in to your world, and how to lead you through healing.

So many of us are caught in cycles of emotional suppression, avoidance, and reactive escalation. These tactics for regulating feelings in unsafe environments end up becoming prisons that maintain distress. In session, clients find their emotional balance, step out of these cycles, and are guided into and through important moments.

As my client Ben said, “I don’t want to feel anymore—it’s too much. But now I can’t live empty and numbed-out anymore. So I am stuck, desperate, and getting more depressed by the day.”
Goals of Therapy
You want to feel better, of course you do. But good clinical work with me strives not only to reduce the negative, but for your personal growth and greater connection with yourself. Greater connection with others. This kind of therapy enables clients to be more open and engaged with their inner experience and with other people— to be more alive.
Growth is our natural way of being. And when we’re struggling, our behavior is a distortion of a potentially healthy way of dealing with hard stuff. Sometimes really hard stuff. We work through the blocks, together. We work to discover your patterns of behavior and how you make sense out of your world. Ones’ that are helpful as well as unhelpful. Since you’re human, you have both.
